The following Vision Statement, Mission Statement, and Statement of Faith and Lifestyle serve as the standards by which PCCS operates, expects of its personnel, students, and employees, and unequivocally supports. These appear in the PCCS Handbook and Staff Handbook and are incorporated by reference in the PCCS Enrollment Contract and in the staff employment process.

Vision Statement. The vision of Poetry Community Christian School is to maintain a Christ-centered learning environment while striving for continuous improvement in educational practices.

Mission Statement. The mission of Poetry Community Christian School is to offer an exemplary Christ-centered and affordable educational experience with diverse learning opportunities including college-preparatory programming, enrichment electives, and learning differences, service sustained by parent partnerships and management that is both fiscally-responsible and focused on continuous improvement.

Core Values. The core values of Poetry Community Christian School: are Christ-likeness. Excellence, Virtue, Relationships, and Service.

Statement of Faith and Lifestyle. There is one God who created our world and is known to us as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is God's Son, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life and died to atone for the sins of humankind. Jesus Christ arose from the grave, ascended into heaven and has provided salvation for those who believe on Him. The Bible is God’s holy guidance for our lives. Christian believers are to live in accordance with God’s commandment and to proclaim the gospel to all the world. The two greatest commandments are: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind,” and “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew 22:37-39. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16. The above Statement of Faith represents that the School is committed in belief and lifestyle to historical and conservative Biblical standards of morality.

This Statement does not exhaust the extent of the School’s beliefs. The Bible itself, as the inspired Word of God, speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of individuals and is the sole and final source of all that we believe. The purposes herein, the School’s Officers and Board members are its final interpretive authority on the Bible’s meaning and application.

Our first and foremost goal at PCCS is to glorify and honor God in all that we do. 1 Cor. 10:31, 1 Peter 4:11. In this regard, we will strive consistently to (a) acknowledge, both in word and deed, the scriptures as our highest rule and final authority for faith and practice in all matters, and (b) submit to the Scriptures in all aspects of school operation in general and the academic program in particular.

Multi-Denominational Position. The School’s Statement of Faith and Lifestyle, above, is fundamental to basic Christian tenets and contains those doctrines to which the School desires to unreservedly adhere and model, including conservative Christian values. It is the School’s desire to maintain this position and to do so in all fairness to each student and family. In honoring this desire concerning the outreach of the School, there shall be no attempt made by parents, students, staff, Officers or the Board of Directors to promote or disparage any doctrinal or denominational beliefs, practices, or positions regarding issues upon which the School itself has assumed no official stance. The School desires to remain united in the salvation and the love of Christ, avoiding the dissention that may be caused by denominational distinctions.

Non-Discrimination Position. The School admits students of any race, color, national & ethnic origin and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in admissions, hiring or in administering its policies or programs.
