"We've Got The Power"

The PCCS athletics program is active and competitive!

PCCS has adopted the Texas UIL COVID-19 Guidelines, in addition to several other requirements.  All individuals entering the gym for group events, practices or games must be cleared using the PCCS Screening Form and a on-site temperature scan, until further notice. As per UIL, all individuals in the gym must wear masks or face shields, excepting student/athletes actively exercising or coaches who are at least 6 feet from their players. The gym will be limited to 50% capacity, and seating will be socially distanced at 6' excepting household members.  For athletics practices, no one is permitted in the gym except coaching staff, student athletes, and their parents/siblings who must sit in chairs that are socially distanced at least 6 feet apart, excepting household members.

Depending upon the team and age group, PCCS has played in various leagues, including the Texas Christian Athletic League (TCAL), Christian Schools Athletics Federation (CSAF), Texas Association of Private & Parochial Schools (TAPPS), as well as various invitational tournaments.  PCCS will begin competing in TCAF, the sister league to the elementary/junior high CSAF league that the school has been a member of since 2003.  The large Multi-Purpose Building and regulation-size courts and goals, make PCCS a popular “home” game site for boys’ and girls’ basketball (Elementary, JH, JV, Varsity) as well as girls’ volleyball (JH, JV and Varsity).  Baseball began in 2013 followed by softball and the teams regularly attend the state meet.  Track & Field is also a popular offering for students in Elementary, Junior High and High School interested in this challenging sport.  Students enjoy scrimmages, especially when they involve faculty/staff (the “Laminators”) playing a PCCS athletics team!  Sports are a great way for our students to engage in team spirit and gain skills in sportsmanship.  Poetry Pioneers is the school’s mascot, and green and white are the school’s colors.  PCCS awards letters for participation on its teams each May during the Awards Banquet.
