Growing into the Future…
What began as a wonderful idea in Spring 2002 culminated in the opening of Poetry Community Christian School on September 3. Initial enrollment projections of 30-40 students were exceeded with 90+ students ages 5-16! To keep tuition reasonable, parents volunteered more than 3000 hours from July1 to September 3, 2002 to renovate a commercial building in Poetry into our present-day school building. In the summer of 2003, parents again stepped up to the plate with the construction of a new Elementary Building, housing students in grades Primer - 6th. During spring 2004, parents pledged money toward the Annex of the high school building (for a lunchroom, computer room, science room) constructed during the summer of 2004. The parents supported the Board’s recommendation to purchase the four acres behind the school in November 2005. Plans began for construction of an 11,000 square-foot Multi-Purpose Building and were followed by an incredible donation of beautiful tile for the gym from Fritz Tile as well as many Parent Partner hours toward finish-out. The new Multi-Purpose Building now services our 220 student body and 50+ faculty/staff with an indoor regulation-size gym, lunchroom, kitchen/concession stand, performance area, restrooms/locker rooms, computer lab, weight room, and learning differences center.
While PCCS is a one class-one grade school, we strive to provide better and more educational programs and services to students, faculty, and staff as funds become available.
- PCCS drama, music, dance students in elementary, junior high and high school look forward to having a performance stage at the east end of the Multi-Purpose Building. The plans are in place, but the funds are not yet available to complete it.
- We are also working on new parking areas to accommodate staff, athletic games, and school events.
- Faculty and parents also envision an outdoor pavilion at the east end of the Multi-Purpose Building to accommodate outdoor classes and events.
We are currently accepting pledges and donations to support these projects. Please join us in moving toward these new goals for an extraordinary educational environment!

Thanks to all of the businesses and community members who have donated funds, building materials and classroom supplies. We would not be where we are today without supporters like you… 'Thank You!'
Tax-Deductible Contributions
PCCS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, so your gifts are tax-deductible. If you live in Poetry or the surrounding community, please consider us for a year-end contribution. We have extremely low administrative costs - almost every dollar goes directly to providing education, in a Christian environment, to children of our community.
Special Needs
Computer Systems: PCCS is committed to growing its technology program so graduating students are proficient in computer applications and have the opportunity to enroll in courses on computer design, software and hardware. To meet this goal, PCCS needs up-to-date computers for the student technology center. If your company has downsized and has systems sitting idle, donating them to PCCS will help the community and provide a tax deduction.
Resource Program: PCCS is unique in offering LINK Lab, a content-mastery program, and the Fast ForWord program, for students with mild learning differences in reading or math. Curriculum and ongoing teacher training for resource programs and maintaining up-to-date computers for these programs is quite expensive. Please consider helping us maintain and grow these programs with your contribution—tagged specifically for LINK Lab or Fast ForWord. Thanks!
